A while back I received an e-mail from the online Make magazine. It had an article about a biped robotic creation called Chip-E. I was quite taken with this little shuffling robot, so I decided to make one myself. The only problem was, the concept was based on three D printing, downloading code someone else wrote, and buying it like a kit. This kind of goes against my grain (oak pun) I don’t like putting together kits. This is what the little guy looks like.
Here is the website.
You can build it from 3D printed parts and a kit of motors and such.
Or you can do like I did and make it out of oak and brass.
It still needs a lot of programming to get it to move like I want, but the little guy looks pretty cool to me.
