I have settled into a morning routine here in Viborg. I find that I am getting up before the alarm at a little before five in the morning. We meet for Breakfast at the Bowl-n-fun for ham sandwiches and liver pate’ at 6am so I have some time to kill. So, I usually put in my I pod and go for a long walk through the deserted streets of Viborg. This morning I ran across this interesting stone wall.
The words translate to Peace, Joy, and Sorrow with the date of May 5th 1945. . The date is important to the Danes, it when England liberated Denmark from the German occupation in WWII. This was due in no small part to both a vigorous internal resistance movement and American support.
This is also exactly 40 years to the day before I married my lovely wife.
