Off they go.

dc-or-bust

Well it was another early Saturday morning.  We got up at 5am to help get the WHS Marching Band off to DC in style.  Volunteers, parents, music boosters, and the Pride of Windsor arrived at the Windsor High school at dawn to load up school busses with kids and luggage, bound for Denver International Airport and eventually Washington D.C.

After everything was loaded, hugs, tears, and a good bit of photography, the band was off.  A large part of the town showed up to send them off in style.  Main Street was lined with family, friends, and folks from all over town, waving signs, flags, and banners.

I received a call a few minutes ago that the band was contacted at DIA by CBS morning news.  They are scheduling a mini concert and interview with the band for the CBS morning news on Monday!

What a deal.

Tune in if you can!

Look for the tallest trumpet player!

  3. BTW, is the “tortoise” group slower or faster than the “slug” group? What do I have to do to make “Hare”?

What did the slug say while riding on the tortoise’s back? “Weeeeeee!”
